A “work in progress” project.
A forest, a place where you can get lost and meet ambiguous figures sometimes with animal and sometimes monster features. A wounded nature in which it is difficult not to perceive, in its profound silence, its profound moods and reflect our own! If we are very careful and try to listen to it, nature speaks to us and communicates its pain which will lead to its death or … to our death!
These photographs were taken in analogue with 8×10″ large format cameras using traditional film as a sensitive support. Almost all the photos are printed in contact between the film and the paper, with the ancient technique called “Salt paper”, the first printing technique since the birth of photography. I like to imagine the transmitted energy of the forest expanding beyond the image itself, in the signs left on the paper with silver nitrate.

Un work in progress.
Una foresta, un luogo dove ci si può perdere e incontrare figure ambigue a volte con sembianze animali e a volte di mostri. Una natura ferita nella quale è difficile non percepire, nel suo profondo silenzio, i suoi profondi stati d’animo e rispecchiarci i nostri! Se stiamo molto attenti e cerchiamo di ascoltarla, la natura ci parla e ci comunica il suo dolore che la porterà alla sua morte o… alla nostra morte!
Queste fotografie sono state eseguite in analogico con fotocamere di grande formato 8×10″ utilizzando come supporto sensibile la pellicola tradizionale. Quasi tutte le foto sono stampate a contatto tra la pellicola e la carta, con la tecnica antica chiamata “Carta salata”, la prima tecnica di stampa dalla nascita delle fotografia. L’ energia trasmessa della foresta mi piace immaginarla che si espande oltre l’immagine stessa, nei segni lasciati sulla carta con il nitrato d’argento.
